[Action/Video] Transmission 006 - In Which Lady Vastra Gets Into A Little Dust-Up
[Action/Accidental Video]
[Perhaps it had been her previous encounter with Edmundo 'The Self-Proclaimed Blade' that had Vastra unwilling to exit her apartment without carrying her sword with her. Truth be told, whenever she's out and about her bustle hides more than just padding, so she's never completely unarmed. But until a few days had passed without any vandalism-related incidents, Vastra mentally refuses to go anywhere without her sword.]
[Fortunately.]
[Early in the afternoon, as she's heading for the stables, Vastra is approached by four droids with clear intentions of subduing her. Their intentions don't last very long--Vastra made a hobby of taking apart sentient machines before her time in Luceti. Ones with artificial intelligence weren't exactly difficult to dispatch.]
[She stands, a little winded from the battle (it's been a while since she's had four targets at once) and surrounded by droid parts.]
I think not. [She mutters to herself as she examines her sword and rolls her eyes in supreme annoyance. Of course her sword is damaged, it had always been damaged after every dealing with a Cyberman. The hem of her gown has also been completely ripped out, in addition to the underarms of both sleeves, and her lip is split--she is a very irate mess right about now.]
[And what's more, Vastra now realizes that her journal was recording the whole thing. Grimacing, she quickly shuts it and ends the feed.]
[Intentional Video]
I had been wondering how long it would be before the Malnosso attempted to get my attention with some of their robotic servants. However I did not appreciate the method of the invitation at all. And neither did my sword.
[She brings said weapon into frame. In places, it closely resembles a bread knife, there are so many dents in the blade.] Yes, I know I should simply take it to the weapons shop, however this blade is of very particular intrinsic value and I don't want to leave it just anywhere without knowing it is being properly cared for. I am hoping to speak with someone directly regarding doing a repair.

Re: [ video ]
I guess for some people it is magic. And I know some people use "magic" but it's based in some advanced science and mathematics. Others, well, it feels like it pops out of nowhere. That's the kind I'm never really sure how to deal with, though I guess even some magic has to obey basic laws of nature, right?
Re: [ video ]
For example, if a police box disappeared, faded out of a side street right before your eyes, that wouldn't exactly follow any 'basic law of nature' you are accustomed to, yes?
Re: [ video ]
Sounds like what we do when we energize people and transport them, so I'd probably be okay with it.
Re: [ video ]
[Whoops, she sounds shocked.]
Re: [ video ]
We apes learn a bit faster than you thought, I guess.
But it's been pretty standard since we first started space exploration as far as I know, when we met the Vulcans. Scotty just recently perfected the equation that allows transport between ships at full warp.
Re: [ video ]
Ah, but what you're talking about is moving within the same universe. The device I was describing is a TARDIS-- Time And Relative Dimensions In Space. Or, in crude terms, a time machine.
Re: [ video ]
Uh, well, that... is more complicated, isn't it?
That would give me a headache though. Time is a pain in the butt if you ask me. Not to mention it seems... risky? Do one little thing, and you can completely throw someone off...
[ The way he said it was very much an indication that he had been directly affected by this. ]
[ video ] (Sorry for late! If you want to drop this due to age, I'm cool with it. D: )
Have you been reading too much science fiction, Captain?
Re: [ video ] (Sorry for late! If you want to drop this due to age, I'm cool with it. D: )
I wish I was. I'm the result of something like that.
An accident messed up my past, so the things I was supposed to do, I didn't do. There's another me, somewhere, but not in this timeline, not in my universe. I was supposed to grow up with my mom and dad and I didn't. I think I'm supposed to do a lot of things, and I haven't or maybe I won't. Because there was an accident and the time-lines split I guess.
Re: [ video ]
Re: [ video ]
Oh believe me, I have well covered that part.
But it just sucks knowing what your other time-line self had sometimes. Cause I know what he had, because I've met the alternate Spock. He's the one who told me, the one who split the time-lines if you want to think of it that way - space-time is weird.
Don't get me wrong. I like my life, but if you ask me it's a headache and disaster in the making.

It's been pretty standard as far as I know since we began advanced space travel, ever since we met the Vulcans. Within the past year my engineer, Scotty, has even perfect the equations necessary for transport on ships at warp.
